Water for Wednesdays
The release date of the Water for Elephants movie is set at April 22. (107 days away! I mean . . . not that I have a countdown clock on my desk or anything . . .) The book is #9 on the current New York Times Bestseller List. Twentieth Century FOX released the first official stills from the movie, and People and Entertainment Weekly were all over it with two-page “First Look” features of beautiful movie scene photos.
.
People explains how Robert Pattinson made the decision to do this movie:
.
“The Twilight star, 24, was on the fence about taking the role of Jacob, a veterinary student who joins a traveling circus in the upcoming Depression-era romantic drama Water for Elephants – until the actor met Tai, his 42-year-old, nearly 9000-lb. costar.”
.
“Rob was non-committal until he saw the elephant,” recalls the film’s animal coordinator Paul ‘Sled’ Reynolds. “After he met Tai, he knew he wanted to do this movie. He absolutely adored that elephant.”
We’ve run some of the photos below–you can see a lot more at the excellent fan-based Water for Elephants film site.
