My favorite summer mystery was Caleb Carr’s The Alienist. Still scares the daylights out of me.

I just finished I Thought You Were Dead by Pete Nelson. Thoroughly enjoyable book – made you laugh and cry and think. What a good book should do!
My favorite summer read thus far is The Land of Mango Sunsets by Dorothea Benton Frank. It was light reading, and I love her flair for capturing life as it really is with a little of the past thrown in. I am always open to the magic of the island.
Heidi Durrow’s “The Girl Who Fell From the Sky”. A second time round for sure.
I enjoy a Donna Leon book each summer.
Hmmm… It is really hard for me to narrow down a favorite because so often a book is my favorite until I finish a new one and then it is my favorite. I think you get the picture…

So many books, so little time! So many favorites, but one beach vacation stands out in my mind–I hung out on the beach all day pouring through one Agatha Christie novel after another. Great fun! What You See in the Dark is definitely on my “must read” list.

Favorite summer read…yikes so many to choose from. I’d have to recommend Belle Bogg’s collection “Mattaponi Queen.” A great summer read by a debut author!
My favorite summer read has to be Barefoot, I love all her novels. But, I am sure this year another one will top the list.

I am about to read the third book in the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series. Like it much more than I thought I would!
Summers in a tropical country sear like the breath of Hell, which is why I like reading and re-reading M. John Harrison, whose fictions employ a prose style so surgically precise they feel like cold scalpels slicing the soul.
Favorite summer read so far is Talia Carner’s “Jerusalem Maiden” – wonderful fictional history!

I have been in Bakersfield, California so many times, it is the perfect setting for a mystery. I loved the promo so much. I am positive that I would love the book.
