Tune in on August 18 at 7:00 p.m. PST/10:00pm EST for our latest Algonquin Book Club event! Terry McMillan, award-winning author of the bestsellers Get Happy and Waiting to Exhale, will interview Heidi Durrow about her Indie Next and New York Times bestseller The Girl Who Fell From the Sky. You’ll be able to watch the entire event–held at Book Passage–via live webcast, send in questions, and chat with other viewers.     Thanks so much for your question!
    I like to think that the book allows the reader to come up with new questions about our society’s ideas of race, culture, beauty and how we define family. I hope the reader comes away with a sense that s/he has connected with the struggles of the characters whether or not s/he shares the same background.
