Water for Elephants is on my top 5 list to read! What a huge blessing to receive a autograph copy. Totebag would be great too!!! Thanks!
This is such a beautiful book. The imagery is one of a kind. I hope the film version does it justice.
Will be in U.K on this date so will have to stay up late! Would hate to miss 2 really talented authors.
What an amazing giveaway! I would love to win anything mentioned here. Water for Elephants was an amazing book and I am excited about seeing the movie.
Water For Elephants is such a fantastic book. Definitely one of my favorites.
What a great book club! Thanks for doing this!
So excited they are making this into a movie. I wasn’t sure I would like this book about the circus during the Depression, but I was immediately draw in. Sara Gruen is an excellent writer. She really made this story, its characters and setting come alive. It became a page-turner and I didn’t want to put it down! Excellent cast pick for the movie as well. I also loved The Help. What an excellent match to put these two authors together. They are both masters of the craft of historical fiction.
I loved the book ! I would LOVE to have an autographed copy for my library.
This is one of my favorite books of all time
I loved Water For Elephants and would love to have the autographed book for my collection. Thank you’n
Love! This! Book!
LOVED Water for Elephants! Truly unique story, told in a gripping voice. The use of language that reminds you how beautiful and powerful words are in the hands of a master.

Water For Elephants has been my favorite book since the day I picked it up, so an autographed copy would mean the world!
Loved the book…such a great story and so well crafted!
Not only did I enjoy Water for Elephants, my 19-year-old daughter loved it, too. I recently lent it to a good friend of mine who asked if I had a book recommendation since she needed something good to read during her treadmill workouts. Naturally, I recommended Water for Elephants. We’ve decided that all three of us will go see the movie together when it comes out on the 22nd. As for the webcast, I can’t wait. I want to know if Sara had the opportunity to get up close with any circus animals, especially the elephants.
A friend of mine loaned me this book. I started to read it and was enjoying it but then had to set it aside for an impending out-of-state move. Would love to get back into it. Please enter me.
One of the most beautiful books I’ve read. There´s no comparison with all these realities behind the show we usually enjoy. Thanks to the book, I realized the true meaning of love for animals. The story is very nice but has very sad moments. Elder Jacob’s character is really endearing. Just wonderful.
I must say this book is one of the most beautifully and well-written books I have ever had the pleasure to encounter. I am currently in the process of finishing it up (which I don’t really want to do because I don’t want it to end), but I can say that I fell in love with the book and story immediately after reading the 1st chapter! I am so looking forward to the movie, and truly hope it does the book justice but even if it doesn’t this book will forever be on my favorites list.
I just recently got my hands on a copy of Water For Elephants and I can’t wait to get started. I have heard so many awesome things about it and I definitely want to finish it before I see the movie 🙂
What a fantastic story. Looking forward to the discussion.
This is one of the best books I’ve read in a long time. The story was so well-written that an hour passed without my even realizing I had been reading for that long. Loved it.
Not often do you get a set of authors of this calibur who stars are rising in both the literary and hollywood stages. And here in this wonderful twist of author interviewing author, what a brilliant idea. Seems for book folks like a world series.
Can’t wait to read the book first and then be part of this fantastic webcast. Thanks for doing this!
Looking forward to reading the book and discussion following
I tell every reader I know about this book. The cool thing is this book cuts across every kind of reader, whether male or female, young or old. It’s a gem.
Looks like an amazing book. Thanks for the book club!
WFE is one of the best books I have ever read!
So excited! I’m really looking forward to seeing the interview with Sara Gruen, especially with the movie coming out soon as well. Such a good book.
I just loved this book! It was recommended to me by my grandmother in law who also raved about it. I cannot wait to see how the movie compared with the book and hope that Sara Gruen discusses the differences and how much influence she had in the movie. Thanks for the giveaway opportunities and I will check in for the discussion!
My entire reading group is looking forward to this. We read The Help in February and Water for Elephants in March. This couldn’t be more perfect for us!
how did you get the idea for water for elephants
The interview sounds fun, great idea!! Can’t wait to watch the movie, the book was wonderful. Love the era of the book, it looks beautiful in the movie previews!
I have been reading since I was 5 – I am now 53, and this book is one of my all time favorites. I reccomend it to everyone who is looking for something to read – I think 20 of my friends have read it so far! 🙂
I have read this book 3 times and will read it again. I have pushed and cajoled others into reading it. Have yet to hear anyone say a disparaging word.
I love the fact that my daughter, myself and my stepmother all love this book and we are all looking forward to seeing the movie. Thank you Sara for bringing the circus to life for us all!
I really enjoyed reading WFE.
I immediately fell in love with the 90 (or 93) year-old narrator and protagonist of this story. His memories of his time with the circus and his love for one of the performers were detailed and fascinating. The research of Sara Gruen was apparent. I was engrossed in the history and the characters. Some of it was very dark but that was offset by the antics of the animals and the strong backbone of the characters. The author pulled no punches, but instead opened a window on a world that most of us have never even imagined.
I will definitely be checking out the webcast! This looks fantastic!
Loved it! Couldn’t put it down, read it in a day!
I loved The Help and Water for Elephants. I’m now reading the previously written books by Sara Gruen,Riding Lessons & Flying Changes. I am awaiting Kathryn Stockett’s next book – there is one coming out, right? I’m sure a movie will be made of The Help as well! Can’t wait to see the Water for Elephants movie!!! Both of you keep writing & I’ll keep buying your books & telling my students to read them! This is what great story-telling is all about!
My daughter and I both devoured Water for Elephants and The Help. Can’t wait to see the movie versions too. My mother also enjoyed The Help so that book kept 3 generations of readers happy.
