I admire Julia Alvarez since How the Garcia Girls… Alvarez touches my soul very deeply with the way she elegantly weaves her stories. It would be great to have her around.

I’ve been a fan of Julia Alvarez’s work for a long time. This collection sounds wonderful! Definitely adding it to the must-read list.
Julia Alvarez has a voice that commands attention – and that voice is bringing much needed attention to Latino literature. Her book, “In the Time of the Butterflies”, captures with absolute brilliance, the plight of the Garcia sisters – and I have no doubt that her book of poetry is going to be as satisfying, and touching, a read. I, for one, would love to read her poems.
