With The Muralist, you’ll enter the world of Alizée Benoit, an American painter working for the Works Progress Administration (WPA) who vanishes in New York City in 1940. No one knows what happened to her. Not her Jewish family living in German-occupied France. Not her artistic patron and political compatriot, Eleanor Roosevelt. Not her close-knit group of friends, including Mark Rothko, Jackson Pollock, and Lee Krasner. And, some seventy years later, not her great-niece, Danielle Abrams, who while working at Christie’s auction house uncovers enigmatic paintings hidden behind works by those now-famous Abstract Expressionist artists. Do they hold answers to the questions surrounding her missing aunt?

You’re intrigued already and just know the club conversation will have everyone talking. Here are discussion questions and a note from the author to add to the fun.

Please fill out this form to enter for a chance to win a set of up to ten (10) paperback copies of The Muralist by B.A. Shapiro. Entries must be received by 12pm Eastern, Thursday, November 10, 2016. One entry per person only. Winners will be chosen at random. Residents of the United States only, please.
