  5. I am so glad that I found this site! I have been a fan of Algonquin books for so many years — I’m a bookseller since the days of B.Dalton, on through B&N then on to the now defunct Media Play. My life has moved beyond bookselling as a career, but my love of books and literature is as strong as ever and most of my disposable income still goes to books. Thanks for such a wonderful site! 🙂

  19. I came across “In The Time of Butterflies” through the Algonquin Books, and immediately after reading the description, the book went on my “to-reads” list! I love books that take fact, and add fiction, in order for the reader to be able to relate to the voices of the characters. I would love to read this book, and would be extremely obliged (not to mention, psyched) to win this book.

I especially loved the author’s mention of Seamus Heaney’s poem “The Cure at Troy”, because the lines
    “The longed-for tidal wave
    Of justice can rise up,
    And hope and history rhyme.”
are from some of my favorite lines ever written. I will, most assuredly, be tuning in on March 21st!
